Curtis Moore works in New York as a writer, arranger, and producer. With Matthew Brookshire, Curtis has written and performed the songs in Todd Solondz’s most recent film, Palindromes, starring Ellen Barkin and Jennifer Jason Leigh. In 2006, three of the songs were short-listed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for Best Original Song. For television, Curtis has provided music for a diverse range of clients, including Industrial Light and Magic (ILM), the MTV Video Music Awards, the Miss America Pageant, and the Rose Bowl.

Curtis works with Matthew Brookshire as a songwriter and producer, and has written songs for Wafah Dafour, Shawna Stone, Kevin Aviance, Kathusja, Ari Gold, Sara Ramirez, among others.

He was commissioned by the Williamstown Theater Festival to write the score for Triangle, which had its premiere in the 2005 season, and was subsequently developed at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Conference in 2006 with director Robert Longbottom. Curtis also collaborated with Thomas Mizer, Amanda Green, and Matthew Brookshire on the critically acclaimed musical, For the Love of Tiffany, and is currently developing a bluegrass infused musical, The Legend of Stagecoach Mary. With Thomas Mizer he has composed the scores for The Book of Love, The House of the Seven Gables (ASCAP Workshop) and The Bus to Buenos Aires (produced at the Ensemble Studio Theatre in 2006); with lyricist Amanda Green, Once Upon a Primetime and Up The Week Without a Paddle (Garland Award for Best Score and Best Musical, L.A. Drama Critics Circle nomination for Best Original Score); with Maryrose Wood, Eight Is Enough (Joe’s Pub), and Dreams This Way, the Best of Raw Impressions.

He was an artist in residence and multiple grant winner at the Eugene O’Neill National Music Theatre conference, is a member of BMI, and a founding member of the Northwestern University Entertainment Alliance.

Since 2001, Curtis Moore has directed the New York office of the Packard Humanities Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring lost scores of America’s very first musicals. Curtis Moore and his team have worked to reintroduce this music to the public, presenting the scores in historically accurate editions following as close as possible the authors’ original intentions. Recent projects include Victor Herbert's Babes in Toyland and Lady of the Slipper (recorded with the London Sinfonietta), Eubie Blake and Andy Razaf's Tan Manhattan, and Life Begins at 8:40 (with the Chicago Humanities Festival).

Curtis orchestrated and co-produced the original cast recording of The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin, and provided orchestrations and co-produced the recording of Mark Bennett's score for the Tony award winning production of The Coast of Utopia at Lincoln Center. Additional orchestration projects: Saved at Playwrightes Horizons, Lincoln Center's Cymbeline, Striking 12 (by Groovelily), A Gay Century Songbook at Carnegie Hall (music by Larry Grossman) and A Dolls Life (revival at York Theatre), Kiss of the Spider Woman at The Appletree Theater in Chicago, pop! at Joe's Pub with b.d. wong, Joe! the Musical (by Dan Lipton and David Rossmer), work tracks - Pocahontas II (Disney, music by Larry Grossman), The Christmas Schooner (Baliwick Theater, Chicago).

Curtis supports Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, and The Ali Forney Center for LGBT homeless youth.

Matthew Brookshire

Matthew Brookshire is a songwriter and performer living in New York City. He co-wrote four songs for the recent Todd Solondz film Palindromes, starring Ellen Barkin and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Thomas Mizer

Thomas Mizer wrote the book and lyrics for The Book of Love, The House of the Seven Gables (ASCAP Workshop 1998) and The Bus to Buenos Aires, and he co-wrote the book for the 2003 New York Fringe Festival hit For the Love of Tiffany. Most recently, he was commissioned by the Williamstown Theater Festival to write the lyrics for Triangle, which received its premiere in the 2005 season. Working with collaborators including Curtis Moore, Amanda Green, Joshua Scher and Larry Grossman, he has written special material for the MTV Video Music Awards, the Citrus Bowl, Raw Impressions and theatrical stages across the country. An honors graduate of Northwestern University with degrees in Theater and English Literature, he has also completed the BMI Lehman Engel writing workshop and received an artist in residence grant from the National Music Theater Conference and ASCAP. In addition, Thomas has completed his first novel (set in the world of theater), represented by Dystel Literary Management, and is currently developing a new full-length musical, The Legend of Stagecoach Mary. In a “prior” life as an actor, Thomas appeared in roles Off-Broadway and at regional theaters. He last starred as “Steve” in the First National Tour of Blue’s Clues, Live!, including two sold-out weeks at Radio City Music Hall.
