For the Love of Tiffany

August 30, 2003

A Wifetime Original Musical

Tiffany logo

For the Love of Tiffany, a new musical with music by Curtis Moore, lyrics by Amanda Green, and a book by Matthew Brookshire and Thomas Mizer, draws its inspiration from the trash, tragedy and triumph found in the made-for-TV movies of women's television. The protagonist, Stephanie, is obsessed with the trials and tribulations of the heroines from Wifetime movies, at the expense of having any real adventures of her own. That all changes the day she meets both the man of her dreams and her favorite Wifetime Movie star, the titular Tiffany Jenkins.

Listen to material from FOR THE LOVE OF TIFFANY:

Tiffany had a successful, sold-out run at the 2003 New York International Fringe Festival. The production starred Tony nominee Nancy Opel (Urinetown), and was directed by Matthew Brookshire, with music direction by Tom Kitt.

Reviews:

"A smartly silly farce custom-tailored for the Urinetown crowd … "Be a Little Less Stupid," the finale, is one of the best new comic songs to come along in ages."

Wall Street Journal, August 22, 2003

"Moore's music is infectious, most notably the anthem "Let America Come" and "Be a Little Less Stupid.""

American Theater Web, August 2003

"The plot has endless twists. The references to Tiffany's past television films -- all a chance to further parody the plots and titles -- are dead on … Everyone, including the appreciative audience, leaves happy."
